GAFFNEY, SC-- Ellen Landreth Edmonds, 83, formerly of 100 Fairfield Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Peachtree Centre.
Born in Greenville, she was the widow of the late Rev. Oscar S. Edmonds and the daughter of the late Charlie E. Landreth and Valeria Belle Crowe Landreth. She was a retired salesperson from Belk's and Ivey's. Mrs. Edmonds was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Ret. Col. George Edmonds and wife, Charlene of Columbia; two daughters, Anna Parris and husband, Sam of Gaffney and Elaine Young and husband, Andy of Clermont, FL; a sister, Edna Edwards of Greenville; three grandchildren, Nathan Paul Young, Robert Jason Parris and wife, Elizabeth and Katie Parris Turner and husband, William; and three great-grandchildren, Michaela Rose Parris, Samuel Paul Parris and Ashlyn Grace Parris. Mrs. Edmonds was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Reese and Carl Landreth; and two sisters, Inez Suikonen and Doris Edwards.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 PM on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Providence Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 4:00 PM with Dr. Scott Peterson, Mr. Mark Hackett and Rev. R.J. Parris officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
