George Donald Mullinax

SPARTANBURG, SC: George Donald Mullinax, 86, died Sunday, August 04, 2013, at Regional Hospice Home. He was the widower of Shirley Ann Smith Mullinax and son of the late George Frank and Carrie Fortune Mullinax.
A native of Clifton, he was a graduate of Cowpens High School, a member of Morningside Baptist Church, and was the owner of Mullinax Repair Service. He retired as a Master Sergeant after 22 years of military service in the U.S. Army, U.S. Naval Reserve, and U.S. Air Force having served during three wars, WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War. He was a member of the Croft Ruritan Club, American Legion Post #28, Vets of Foreign Wars, Camp Croft Restoration Advisory Board, and Air Force Sergeant Association.
He is survived by sons, G. Brian Mullinax and wife, Anita of Reidville, SC and David L. Mullinax and wife, Christie of Marietta, GA; a daughter, Andrea M. Carskadden and husband, Rick of Mason, OH; five grandsons, Austin K., Marshall G., Luke and Noah Mullinax and Derek Carskadden; a brother-in-law, William Cash of Chesnee; a cousin, John W. Fortune of Cowpens; and a dear friend, Wilhelmina Dearybury of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by a sister, Marlin M. Cash.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon, Wednesday, August 7, at Bobo Funeral Chapel with Dr. Kirk Neely officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
