James Kitchens

GAFFNEY, SC-- James Henry Kitchens, Jr., 84, formerly of 205 W. O'Neal Street, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Geneva Osment Kitchens and son of the late James Henry Kitchens, Sr. and Beulah Mize Kitchens. James retired from Sears, was a U. S. Army veteran, and was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he formerly served as deacon and director of Sunday School. He loved gardening, yard work and computers.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a sister, Helen Roberts of Gaffney. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Kitchens and two sisters, Margaret Crosby and Nora Mae Vinesett.
Private memorial services for the family will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Southside Baptist Church, "Debt Retirement Fund", 204 W. O'Neal Street, Gaffney, SC 29340 or to the .
The family will be at the residence, 205 W. O'Neal Street, Gaffney.
