Jay Paul Padgett

DETROIT, MI-- Jay Paul (Pete) Padgett, 88, widower of Winona Puckett Padgett, entered eternal rest on Saturday June 8, 2013. He was the son of the late John Brodus and Theophus (Note) Padgett. He was known for singing in several area quartets. The main quartet was the Baronets. He served his country in the US Army during World War II.
Survivors include a sister, Mildred Drummond; two grandsons, Terrence H. (Tiger) Jeter and William (Toine) Jeter; granddaughters, Sharanda and India Jeter; nieces, Lillie Pearl (Bill) Jackson, Brenda (James) Morman, Sandra King; nephew, Ivan (Erica) Padgett; and daughter-n-law, Tammy Jeter; all of Spartanburg; niece, Alfreda (David) King of Atlanta, GA; and a host of cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a son, William (Skeet) Jeter.
Funeral services will be held Saturday June 15, 2013, at Kingdom Cultural Center, 8809 Schoolcraft , Detroit, MI. Burial will be in the Veterans Cemetery, Detroit, MI. Fields Funeral Home, 10050 Joy Rd., Detroit, MI 48204.
The family is at the home of his niece, Brenda (James) Morman, 420 Parkdale Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
