SPARTANBURG, SC-- Laurin B. Goolsby, 89, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Magnolia Manor-Spartanburg. Born February 20, 1923, in Spartanburg, he was the husband of the late Phoebe Cato Goolsby and son of the late John Harmon and Mamie Bevel Goolsby.
A veteran of the U. S. Marines, Mr. Goolsby was retired from Southern Railroad and was a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg Church.
Surviving are his daughters, June G. Wykel (Don) and Janice G. Cromley; grandchildren, Hope, Steven, and Janice; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Laurin, and Nicholas. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also predeceased by a grandson, Donnie Wykel.
Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Sunday, December 30, 2012, at First Baptist North Spartanburg Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Michael S. Hamlet. Entombment with military rites by the U. S. Marine Corps Honor Team will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex.

The family is at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, June and Don Wykel, 327 Collin Rogers Drive, Moore, SC 29369.
