GAFFNEY, SC-- Alma Lorene Mullinax Denton, 90, formerly of 14th Street, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Broadus Denton and was the daughter of the late Manley and Lillie Sanders Mullinax. Mrs. Denton retired from Hamricks, Inc. and was a member of East Gaffney Baptist Church.
Surviving is a son, Barry Denton and wife, Beverly, of Gaffney; a son-in-law, J. W. Rogers of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Brian Denton and wife, Karen, Jason Denton and wife, May, Caroline Rogers, Leanne Gossett and husband, Travis, and Julie Rogers; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew Denton, Logan Denton, Maggie Denton, Kerstin Rogers, Olivia Gossett, Liam Gossett and Paisley Rogers.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Rogers; a grandson, Trent Rogers; three brothers, Lamar Mullinax, Willard Mullinax and Roy Mullinax; and three sisters, Thelma Barnhill, Edith Kiser and Claudette "Tootsie" Steward.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Nugent officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
The family will be at the home of Barry & Beverly Denton, 395 Grassy Pond Road, Gaffney, SC 29341.
