COWPENS, SC-- Marjorie Louise Mullins Wood, 90, formerly of 117 Moore Street, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 10, 2012.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Herman Wood and daughter of the late Charles Carl (Charlie) Mullins and Louise McCullough Mullins. Mrs. Wood was the former night manager of Town & Country Apartments, loved to read, work puzzles and crochet, and was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.
Surviving is a son, James Wood of Cowpens; two daughters, Teriza Scates of Gaffney and Margaret Mathis of Spartanburg; five grandchildren, Teriza Nelson, Randy Mathis, Joyce Goode and husband, Eric, Sandra Stanley and husband, Kelly, and Dot Mitchell and husband, Johnny; nine great-grandchildren; ten great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Fred Wood, five brothers, Charles Mullins, John Mullins, Dever Mullins, Henry Mullins and Lionell Mullins and two sisters, Teriza Grubb and Mildred Carter.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 in the Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Randy McCraw officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Beaverdam Baptist Church, 142 Beaverdam Road, Gaffney, SC 29341.
The family will be at the home of Margaret Mathis, 200 Lakeview Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
