Mr. Robert Curtis Lindsey
CHARLOTTE, NC-- Mr. Robert Curtis Lindsey, 72 years of age, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at CMC-Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, NC. He was born on October 13, 1940, in Inman, SC, son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Paul and Alice Lindsey.
Robert was employed as a machine operator with the Barnhardt Manufacturing Company and a former employee of the Bigger Brothers, Overnite, and Standard Trucking Companies in Charlotte.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded to eternity, by a brother, Paul Samuel Lindsey; two sisters, Ruby Marie Lindsey and Marcella Lindsey McNeal; a grandson, Anthony Bunch, Jr.; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Eva Knox Garrett and Mrs. Betty Lindsey.
Left to mourn, his passing is the following: his wife, the love of his life of Forty-nine years, Evangelist Mary Knox Lindsey. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two darling children, Mrs. Deirdre Lindsey Bunch and Mr. Rico Lindsey; four wonderful grandchildren: Demetris Lindsey, Deidra' Lindsey, Janee' Lindsey, and Rico Lindsey, Jr., all of Charlotte, NC. His siblings: Mrs. Shirley (Shepard) Johnson, of Bronx, NY, Mr. James (Mattie Ruth) Lindsey and Mr. John (Colleen) Lindsey of Inman, SC, Mr. Julius (Juandree) Lindsey of Ellenboro, NC, Mrs. Velma (Herbert) Fowler of Inman, SC, Reverend Clyde (Frances) Lindsey of Spartanburg, SC, Mr. Claude Lindsey of Greer, SC, Mr. Carl (Margaret) Lindsey of Spartanburg, SC, and Mr. Carol (Susie) Lindsey of Inman, SC; a brother-in-law, Mr. Larnell (Trina) Knox of Cleveland, OH; and a sister-in law, Mrs. Tina (Pedro) Ruiz of Dale City, VA; as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends along with his pastor, Dr. Annie Mae Massey, and foster brother, Elder David McBryde Cannon, CAP of Charlotte, NC.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at A. E. Grier & Sons Ceremony of Choice, 2310 Statesville Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28206.
