Robert "Bob" Franklin Sanders

ST. PETERSBURG, FL-- Robert "Bob" Franklin Sanders, 86, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, May 3, 2013, at Suncoast Hospice, St. Petersburg, FL. Born April 18, 1927, in Albemarle, NC, he was the son of the late Erie Clyde Sanders and Ruth Grace Scruggs Sanders, and husband of the late Doris Lenora Pace Sanders.
A U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Sanders was retired from Milliken, was a former member of Creek Golf Club, and of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hiking to waterfalls in the mountains of North and South Carolina, spending time at the lake house with family, playing golf at the Creek, and keeping his lawn in putting-green condition.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Thomas and her husband Tom of Gulfport, FL; son, Scott Sanders of Boiling Springs, SC; grandchildren, Monica Sanders of Inman, SC, and Paul Sanders of Phoenix, AZ. In addition to his parents and wife, he is predeceased by a brother, E. C. Sanders.
Visitation will be 6:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, May 8, 2013 and 1:00-1:45 PM Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Dr. Keith Taylor. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Boiling Springs Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
