LYMAN, SC-- Ruth M. Martinez, 67, of Lyman, SC, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, in Austin, TX. She was born on August 2, 1945, in Goliad County, TX to the late P. A. and Lillie Mata Martinez.
Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Duncan, SC, as well as a member of the quilting club and church choir.
She is survived by daughter, Dorcas (Brian) Miller of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Rebecca Montoya of Austin, TX, Rachel (Bill) Robinson of Yorktown, TX, and Rose Marie (Sandy) Bolenbaucher of San Antonio, TX; brother, Fidencio (Lupe) Martinez of Yorktown, TX; and grandchildren, Nolan, Seth, and Ian Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, David Allen Frye.
Visitation will be 4-9 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm, Friday, January 18, 2013, at Open Bible Baptist Church in Yorktown, TX. Funeral service will be 2 pm, Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Finch Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Gonzalez officiating. Interment to follow at Yorktown Community Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Bryan Martinez, Dr. Robert Cantu, Daniel Robinson, Bill Robinson, Richard Cole, and Joseph Mitchell. Honorary pallberers will be David Cantu, Nicolas Cantu, Antonio Mireles, Frederick Lerma Jr, Eli Martinez, Lucas Martinez, Kaleb Cole, and William Robinson.
