COWPENS, SC-- Sarah JoAnn Teal Staton, 77, formerly of 1130 Lake Street, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 8, 2012.
Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Joe Staton and the daughter of the late Floyd Teal and Susie Blanton Teal. Mrs. Staton was retired from textiles and a member of Trinity Fellowship.
Surviving is a son, Donnie Staton and wife, Melissa of Cowpens; a daughter, JoAnn McConnell and husband, Pastor Mike of Spartanburg; a brother, Billy Teal of Spartanburg; three sisters, Betty Staton, Ruth Branch and husband, Calvin, Brenda Sanders and husband, Jackie, all of Spartanburg; six grandchildren, Tina Kanipe and husband, John, Bryan McConnell and wife, Suzanne, Jimmy Staton and wife, Madia, Heather Johnson and husband, Chris, Dakota Staton and Delanie Staton; and eight grandchildren. Mrs. Staton was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Staton; a daughter, Louise Staton; a great-grandson, J.R. Staton.
The family received friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM on Monday, December 10, 2012, at Trinity Fellowship. Funeral services immediately followed at 11:00 AM at the Church with Pastor Mike McConnell officiating. Interment was in the Clifton Cemetery.
