William Stephen "Steve" Smith
BOILING SPRINGS, SC- Steve Smith, age 43, husband of Jami Hoover Smith, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013, at MUSC in Charleston, SC after a very sudden and brief illness.
Steve was the owner and operator of Smith Construction and Roofing. Steve loved his job and had enjoyed working for and with so many people and other contractors for many years that he had come to love and respect.
Steve was born in Spartanburg County on July 16, 1969. He was the son of Johnny and Mary Carolyn "Connie" Smith of McAbee Road in Roebuck and the son-in-law of James W. and Elizabeth Hoover, also from Boiling Springs.
Steve was the very proud father of three sons that he loved very much, William Stephen Smith Jr. of Inman and his fiancée Audrey Peace, LCPL Caleb Scott Hoover, stationed in Japan, and Coleman Grant Smith of the home.
In addition, he was survived by his brother, Scott Smith and his daughter, McKailley Smith of Roebuck; his sister, Lynn Seiler and her daughter Kassie Seiler of Fountain Inn; his brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Lynne Tate and their daughters Ashley and Lindsey Tate of Boiling Springs; and sister-in-law, Terri Ridings and her children Jacob, Kaitlyn and Jared Ridings of Boiling Springs.
He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday January 10, 2013 at Morningside Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely and Rev. Nathan Neighbors.
Visitation will be held immediately following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the William Stephen Smith Fund, P.O. Box 161912, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
The family will be at their respective homes.
