WOODRUFF, SC-- Albert Arnold DeYoung, 87, of 1141 Cooper Bridge Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 10, 1925 in Greenville to the son of the late Albert Grover and Coral Maude Edge DeYoung and he was the husband of the late Margaret Martha Morgan DeYoung.
He was a carpenter (Builder) for 30 years and retired as a Security Guard at Cryovac, Duncan. He was a member of Bellview Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for two years.
Survivors include sons, Albert Wayne and Danny Keith (Tina), all of Woodruff; daughter, Sandra D. Littlefield of Woodruff; sisters, Lois D. Nelson of Fountain Inn and Evelyn C. Armstrong of Wellford; eight grandchildren, Chris DeYoung of Greenville, Dawn Isley (Jon) of Taylors, Rebecca Stoudenmire (Mike) of Simpsonville, Tuesday Laster (Jonathan), Keith DeYoung, Brock DeYoung, Rhett Outz, Makayla Outz, all of Woodruff; seven great-grandchildren, Gage and Caden Isley of Taylors, Austin Adams, Kensleigh Adams and Makayla Colopy, all of Simpsonville, Karley Laster and Kason Westmoreland, both of Woodruff.
He was predeceased by two sons, Donald Larry DeYoung and Michael Ray DeYoung; two sisters, Inez DeYoung and Grace D. Cromer; five brothers, Major Grover, Oliver Hubert, Jasper Benjamin, James Normal and David LeRoy Deyoung.
Visitation will be 1:00-2:30 PM on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Bellview Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow in the church cemetery, officiated by Pastor Virgil Smith and Rev. Dennis Lynn.
The family is at the residence.
