PITTSBURGH, PA-- Harold Hattaway died in Pittsburgh on Sunday, December 21, 2008. Born in Spartanburg, SC, on October 29, 1935, Harold was the son of the late Arthur L. Hattaway, Sr. and Ida Mae Hattaway.
A memorial service was held in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, December 23, 2008.
Survivors include Harold's daughters, Dana Hattaway and Jennifer Hattaway, of Pittsburgh; and two grandchildren, Zachery and Gabriela.
Survivors also include Harold's two brothers, Arthur Hattaway, of Ellisville, MS, and Ralph Hattaway of Greensboro, NC; and four sisters, Dorothy Wimmer of Rock Hill, SC, Carol Johnson of Hodges, SC, Elaine Newman of Charlotte, NC, and Vernelle Leatherman of Marion, SC; one aunt, Eugenia Bishop of Spartanburg, SC; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Laura Hattaway, Harold's wife, died on Thursday, January 1, 2009. She was born in Pittsburgh on June 23, 1945.
Laura is also survived by two daughters, Dana Hattaway and Jennifer Hattaway of Pittsburgh; and two grandchildren, Zachery and Gabriela.
A graveside memorial service will be held in Spartanburg at Greenlawn Cemetery at Fernwood Glendale Road on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 2:00 PM, conducted by Rev. Russell Wimmer and Rev. Eric Hattaway.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
