PACOLET, SC-- David John Missita, 36, of 469 Briarwood Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2013.
Born in Tarboro, NC, he was the son of George H. Missita and Sonja Simpson Missita of Whitesone. Mr. Missita was a graduate of Spartanburg High School, attended ITT, completed basic training at Camp Lejeune, NC, and was a retired disabled veteran. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps and was stationed in California and Japan working in aircraft recovery. He was a member of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship of Pacolet.
Surviving in addition to his parents is a brother, Brett Simpson Missita and wife, Wendy, of Cooley Springs; an uncle, John Missita and wife, Ginny, of Glens Falls, NY, Joe Simpson and wife, Sandy, of Brant Lake, NY, and Fred Stewart of Spartanburg and cousins in South Carolina and New York. He was preceded in death by an aunt, Sally Stewart and grandparents, Ellsworth and Grace Simpson and Helen Missita.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 2, 2013 at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship with Pastor Lisa Spencer officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Church.
