Dollie Owens Obituary

Dollie "Dot" Moore Owens
INMAN, SC-- Dollie "Dot" Moore Owens, 83, beloved wife of Everett "Cotton" Owens, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday April 9, 2012.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she was surrounded by her adoring family with her devoted husband by her side.
Mrs. Owens took on NASCAR's greats as a dedicated partner in business with her husband - legendary driver, owner and engineer Cotton Owens.
The Owens were married for 66 years.
Mrs. Owens was Cotton's biggest supporter and proved instrumental in his racing success and as a force in the business they built together.
Mrs. Owens was a charter member of Bethany Baptist Church and most recently attended Milestones Church.
Born December 22, 1928 to her late parents William Bryson Moore and Nellie Easler Moore in the Walnut Grove community of Spartanburg County, she is survived by her dear husband, Cotton; and her devoted children, Debbie Davis and her husband Danny and Don Owens and his wife Sara.
Surviving, in addition, are her sister, Mickey Johnson and husband Clarence; her brother, Frank Moore and wife Joanne; her sister-in-law, Kaye Moore; and her brothers-in-law, Ralph and Larry Owens.
She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and their spouses: Kyle and Meredith Davis, Brandon and Melanie Davis, Ryan and Michelle Owens and Cari and Bruce Spanton.
Nine great-grandchildren will never forget their "Dot": Kara, Mallory, Tyler, Savannah and Cooper Davis; Carson and Zach Owens; Nicole and Jake Spanton.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Sarah M. Wood and husband Quenton; and her brother Lewis Moore.
The family is grateful for the loving care provided by her friend, Pearl Harrison and Spartanburg Regional Hospice nurses.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday April 12, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Reverend Hub Blankenship. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice; 120 Haywood Ave., Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302 or Mobile Meals of Spartanburg; P.O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304

When a loved one passes time stands still for the ones left behind, but for the one that has passed time and place goes one in a better place.Giving them peace of mind and happiness and for that alone we must remember all of the good times for that is what they are remembering as well. I know the feeling of loss as you do. As long as you keep them in your heart they will always be with you. Wishing you Gods blessing and Peace in the coming days...
