Edgar Fae McKinney

CHESNEE, SC-- Mr. Edgar Fae McKinney, 93, of Holly Springs Senior Citizens Center, passed away Friday, August 6, 2010. A native of Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late John Thomas McKinney and Lillian Hollifield McKinney. He was a farmer and a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of Arrowwood Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. Mr. McKinney was well known for his sense of humor.
He is survived by one sister, Ursula M. Lancaster of Chesnee; two nieces, Stella Haynes of Greer and Sheila Gillespie and her husband Don of Inman; one nephew, Tom Willingham and his wife Susanna of New York; and by many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 4:00 PM at Arrowwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniel Godfrey and Rev. Morris S. Hollifield officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Donald Hollifield, Denton Hollifield, Jeffrey Hollifield, Jerry McKinney, Daniel Haynes, and Kim Haynes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice House of Rutherford County, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043; or to Mobile Meals of Spartanburg County, P.O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
The family will be at the Willingham home on Montgomery Drive.
