SPARTANBURG, SC-- Glenn P. Roberts, 72, husband of Rebecca 'Becky' Morgan Roberts, died Friday, October 17, 2014.
J.D. was a native of Black Mountain, NC. He was a race car enthusiast and began his racing career working for Cale Yarborough, Dick Brooks, and several other NASCAR owners. J.D. retired from Hoechst Celanese after 23 years of service. He was a faithful member of Covenant Baptist Church. J.D. will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
In addition to his wife, J.D. is survived by daughter, Cindi Castles (Neal) of Wilmington, NC, and their children, Zac and Chlóe; daughter, Crystal R. Moore (Darryl) of Spartanburg, SC and their son, Ashton; a son, Sean Roberts (Ann Marie) of Inman, SC, and their son, Ethan; and one sister, Betty Nichols of Black Mountain, NC.
He was predeceased by one brother and one sister.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 20th, 3:00-3:50 PM at Covenant Baptist Church.
Funeral services will begin at 4:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Gary Hensley.
In remembrance of J.D., memorials may be made to Covenant Baptist Church, 200 Evangel Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
