CHESNEE, SC-- James Wilton West, 72, beloved husband of Kathy Blackwell West of 204 Scruggs Road, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Regional Hospice Home.
Born February 18, 1940 in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late A.C. West and Margaret Sisk West. He was a former manager with Hamrick's, a member of New Pleasant Baptist Church but attended Chesnee First Baptist Church and was a U.S. Marine veteran.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children; Malachi and Makayla West of the home, Tina Harris of Boiling Springs, Leah Pianella of Spartanburg, Lindsey King of Campobello; brothers, Donald West of Roebuck, Robbie West of Spartanburg; sisters, Doris Horne of Cowpens, Brenda Davis of Saxon and six grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Tommy West.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2012 at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Eggers Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Grogan and Rev. Bruce Jennings officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family gratefully asks that memorials be made to Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
