Lena Harris Floyd
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Lena Harris Floyd entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 24, 2012.
Lena was born on October 2, 1922. Now she joins the love of her life, husband Duran Floyd (1910-1982) in heaven, where they will meet again. Duran was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater. Lena leaves behind daughter, Antoinette (Toni) Floyd Hesla of Spartanburg and son, David Floyd, of Enoree, SC and a Grandson, Chadwick Floyd of Lyman, SC. She also leaves behind Son-In-Law (Jeff Hesla) and Daughter-in-Law (Jayne Floyd).
A native of Spartanburg, SC, Lena worked as at several companies as a Secretary, as well as being a dedicated volunteer at Spartanburg Regional Hospital. She was the daughter of Allen Carl Harris, and Nina Whitlock Harris of Spartanburg. Lena was one of eight children, including five brothers Allen Carl, Jr., James Ned Harris, Benjamin Harris, George Harris and Delvin Harris.
She was preceded into death by her Sisters; Irene Giles of Spartanburg and Carlene Harris of Charlotte. She was a faithful member of Fernwood Baptist Church of Spartanburg. Services were held at Spartanburg Hospice Center House in Spartanburg on Monday, November 26, 2012, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm in the Hospice House Chapel. A private burial service was held at Green Lawn Cemetery, where Lena will reside next to her spouse, Duran Leroy Floyd.
Memorial contributions, in Lena's memory can be made to the Spartanburg Hospice Center House or one's . Both families are at their respective homes.
