WELLFORD, SC-- Mrs. Mamie Duncan West, 75, of 120 Balsm Avenue, peacefully entered rest on Thursday morning, June 27, 2013.
Mamie was the wife of James E. West.
Mrs. West was a devoted life-long member of New Trinity Baptist Church.
Mamie was retired from service with BellSouth after more than thirty-five years of employment. Her community involvements included: member of the Order of Eastern Star, Queen of the South No. 259 Chapter, Life Member of V.F.W. Post 8522 of Wellford and Sunny Ones Social Club.
Mrs. West is survived by: her devoted husband of thirty years, James E. West; her loving cousins, Lucille Seals, Doretha Vernon, Elizabeth Fuller and Nellie Porter; a host of dear friends of the church and the community.
Mamie was predeceased by her cherished son, Leroy Nesbitt Duncan and her brother, Melvin Nesbitt.
A Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013, at 2:00 p. m. at New Trinity Baptist Church of Wellford. The Reverend Wendell Thompson will officiate. Mrs. West will lie in state at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will be in Ft. Prince Memorial Gardens.
Order of Eastern Star Final Rites will be held on Saturday afternoon, June 29, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at the John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel.
The family will receive friends at the home.
