CHESNEE, SC-- Mr. Charles "Mike" Calloway, 58, of Chesnee, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. A native of Morganton, NC, he was the loving husband to Margaret Ricks Calloway and the son of the late Bob and Jackie Calloway. He worked as a maintenance mechanic on heavy machinery was a charter member of Chesnee Freewill Baptist Church, and in his spare time you could often find him working on his corvette, which was his pride and joy. Mike loved camping trips with his friends and walking on the beach.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Brian Michael Wilson of Simpsonville; his daughter, Rebecca Brown and her husband Robert of Chesnee; two brothers, David Calloway and his wife Teena of Hickory, NC and Greg Calloway of Conover, NC; two sisters, Susan Gladden of Morganton, NC and Cindy Calloway of Conover, NC; his grandson, George Brown; special friends, Jack and Janice Painter; and by his beloved dog, Buster.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ted Calloway.
A Home-going Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Chesnee Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. James Childers officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chesnee Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 272, Chesnee, SC 29323.
The family will be at their respective homes.
