Milos A. "Mickey" Crayne

UNION, SC-- Mr. Milos Andrew "Mickey" Crayne, Jr., age 71, husband of Ruth Shetley Crayne of 128 Barber St., Union, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012.
Mr. Crayne was born in Union, May 10, 1941, a son of the late Milos "Mike" Andrew Crayne and Sallie Brock Crayne. He was a graduate of Union High School and worked hard during his life time for Milliken and Co. at different plants and retired from J.B.L. Parker Hannifin in Spartanburg.
Mickey had also worked part-time over the years at Holcombe Funeral Home. He served his country for 35 years and retired from the S.C. National Guard, 4th Battalion 118th Infantry. Mickey loved the Lord and was a member of Brown's Creek Baptist Church for 50 years. He was a lifetime member of the John A. Fant/Union Masonic Lodge #75. Mickey loved being surrounded by people, talking and fellowshipping together. He was a beloved husband of 53 years, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was very proud of his family.
His children are Gloria and Toney Farr, Judy and Walker Gallman, Phil and Barbara Crayne. His grandchildren are Lance and Jennifer Gregory, Andrea Griffin, Daniel and Sally Gallman, Hannah Farr, Lennah Farr, Tee and Stacy Farr, Kacie and Shane Petrie, and Megan McCall; great-grandchildren are Madison, Andrew and Elizabeth Gregory, Lydia Smith, Carson Petrie, Will, Jackson and Samuel Farr. Mickey is also survived by a brother, Gene Brock and wife Anne. His extended family includes sisters-in-law, Brenda Shetley, Ailene Ashe, Stella Quinn, Linda Williams and husband Claudie; a brother-in-law, Stewart Shetley and wife Betty and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mickey was predeceased by family members, Jettie and Herbert Johnson, John Quinn and Robert Shetley.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Brown's Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. John Lee, Rev. Tommy Hill, Mr. Claudie Williams and Rev. Glenn Ribelin. Burial with Military Honors will be in Union Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life and visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at Brown's Creek Baptist Church Family Life Center.

Active pallbearers will be Lance Gregory, Daniel Gallman, Tee Farr, Shane Petrie, Josh Robinson and Mark Williams.

The following are asked to assemble at the church at 10:45 AM Wednesday to form the honorary escort: Retired National Guardsmen, all the men at Brown's Creek Baptist Church, his little buddies Levi and Gentry Wood, Bertie Mae McCullough, friends retired from J.B.L., Donald and Shirley Farr, Lewis and Mamie Horne, H.A. "Buck" and Bessie Vinson, Pearl Crocker, Donald Knox, David Vinson, Sadie Inman, Jeanell Knox, Tommy and Diane Knox, Will and Juanita Cogdill, Bruce and Kay Sparks, Rachel and Donald Hope Howell, Barbara and Ronnie Lamb, Larry and Sue Vaughan, Kyleigh Clark, Sally Horne, Janice Smith, Carl and Agnes Carter, Terry and Dianne Howell, Wayne and Connie Springs, Bill and Margie Goodwin, Audrey and Sam Spencer, Brian Stalnaker, staff of the offices of Dr. Dela Cruz and Dr. David Keith, staff of Harmony Care Hospice.

The family extends a special thank you to Patience First Medical of Spartanburg, Upstate Medical of Union, Wallace Thomson Hospital and Harmony Care Hospice for their care and concern of Mickey during his illness.
