SPARTANBURG, SC-- Myrtle Gentry Pye, 80, of Spartanburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Regional Hospice Home. She was the wife of Alvin Pye, Jr. for over 64 years.
Mrs. Pye was a native of Ninety Six, SC and a daughter of the late John Forest and Lois Morgan Gentry. She was a homemaker and a member of Beaumont Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Boyce Pye of Boiling Springs; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Al Spicer of Boiling Springs and Wanda and Roger Smith of Duncan, SC; a sister, Juanita and husband Charles Whitt of Cowpens; grandchildren: Tammy and husband Gary McSwain, Jason Spicer, Jennifer Pye, and Josh and wife, Kendyle Smith; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Buddy Gentry, Lee Gentry, and William Gentry; a sister, Lois Elliott; and a daughter-in-law, Vicki Pye.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013, at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs. Funeral services will follow in the Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. John Cox and Rev. Rupert Guest. Interment will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the home of Debbie Spicer, 137 Jason Court, Boiling Springs.
