INMAN, SC-- Patricia Hargett Ellis Hedrick, 70 of 134 Hickory Hill Drive, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A native of Wilmington, NC, she was the daughter of Rose Marie Hargett Ellis and the late NC State Senator, Albert Joseph Ellis. She was the widow of Richard Dean Hedrick Sr., a member of Inman First Baptist Church, a retired employee with Spartanburg County DHEC, and was a graduate of Sacred Heart College in Belmont, NC.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Dean Hedrick Jr. and wife Fonette of Oklahoma, Joseph Ellis Hedrick and wife Kristin of Gastonia, NC, Thomas Hargett Hedrick and wife Bonita of Moore; one daughter, Christine Hedrick Barker and husband Forrest of Boiling Springs; one brother, Albert Charles Ellis and wife Laura of Greenville, NC; two sisters, Mary Hargett Ellis Starling and husband Samuel of Raleigh, NC, Elizabeth Hargett Ellis Oxenfeld and husband Robert of Greensboro, NC; one brother-in-law, David Roberts of Raleigh, NC, eleven grandchildren and a large number of loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Susan Hargett Ellis Roberts.
The family will receive friends 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 6, at Inman First Baptist Church, prior to the 2:00 pm Funeral Service officiated by Rev. Dr. Paul Moore and Rev. Jeremiah Childers. Private interment will follow in Good Shepherd Memorial Park. The family is at their respective homes.
