GAFFNEY, SC-- Raymoth Reynolds Atkinson, 93, of 1220 State Line Road, Gaffney, SC, died at home Monday, January 21, 2013. She went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She lived her life wrapped in the love of Jesus and she would have us all remember one thing: Know Jesus Christ.
She lived every day trusting in Him and she would have us all to live, walk, trust, and rest in Him.
She was the daughter of the late Preston and Amanda Warren Reynolds. She was predeceased by four brothers; one sister; her husband, James Paul Atkinson; and her son, James Paul Atkinson, Jr.
She is survived by five of her children, Brenda Miller of St. Augustine, FL; Jerry Atkinson of Gaffney, SC (Janet); Janice Sharpe of Santee, SC (Pete); Carol Pannell of Ellenboro, NC (Kenneth); and David Atkinson of Raleigh, NC (Sydney). She leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Her life was a living testimony of Christ's love and such an extraordinary example to the family she leaves behind.
She was a member of State Line Baptist Church for more than 40 years, and taught Sunday School for many of those years.
Receiving of friends will be held Tuesday evening, January 22, 2013, in the Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home, 211 East Frederick Street, Gaffney, SC, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 23, at State Line Baptist Church, 1321 State Line Road, Gaffney, SC, at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. The family will be at her home.
