Vera McDowell Obituary
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Ms. Vera Lane McDowell, of 104 Overbrook Circle, passed Saturday, January 15, 2011, at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Mr. William McDowell and Mrs. Marie Wilkins McDowell. She was a native of Spartanburg County. She was a member of the Foster's Grove Baptist Church, Cherokee County. Mrs. McDowell was retired from Inman Mills and Wofford College.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sherry (Terry Vernon) McDowell of the home and Mrs. Connie (Kenneth) Jackson of Boiling Springs, SC; six sisters, Ms. Mable McDowell, Ms. Shirley McDowell, Ms. Lois McDowell, Ms. Louise Foster, and Mrs. Geraldine (Robert) Jackson, all of Spartanburg, SC, and Mrs. Patricia (Rudy) Frye of Wellford, SC; one brother, Mr. Paul McDowell of New Jersey; and four grandchildren, Kindal McDowell and Brandon McDowell of the home, Jazzi Styles of Greenville, SC, and A. J. Jackson of Boiling Springs, SC.
The family will receive friends at the home, at 104 Overbrook Circle, Spartanburg, SC.
