Zade Dock Rash, Jr., (USAF, Retired)

WILLIAMSTON, SC-- Chief Master Sergeant, Zade Dock Rash, Jr., USAF, Retired passed away December 17, 2012 at his home. Born January 27, 1935 at Spartan Mills in Spartanburg, SC, he was the youngest son of the late Zade Dock Rash, Sr. and Dessie Louisa Parris Rash. He was of the Methodist faith. Chief Rash completed thirty years of service in the United States Air Force retiring in 1987. He served one year in Korea, one year in Greenland, nine years in Germany with seven of those years in West Berlin. Stateside tours consisted of tours in Minnesota, Montana, New York, Florida, Maine, North Carolina and Nevada. Ha was a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. Chief Rash was predeceased by his wife Marian Bailey Rash of over fifty years. They had three daughters: Cynthia (Cindy) R. Clanton, married to James H. Clanton of Greenville, SC, Tina R. Liptak, married to James (Jim) Liptak of Newberry, SC, and Amy R. Hine Humphrey of Las Vegas, NV. who passed in 1999. There are seven grandchildren, two grandsons, David Z. Liptak of Newberry, SC, and Joseph (Joey) Liptak of the United States Air Force; plus five granddaughters Jennifer (Jenny) Linn Clanton, married to Tim Bright of Greenville, SC, Sarah Elaine Clanton, married to David Byars of Columbia, SC, Christina (Christy) Diane Liptak, married to James (Chad) Hardeman of Houston, TX, Amanda Susanna Hine of Las Vegas, NV, and Amber Lynn Humphrey of Hollister, ID. Chief Rash is also survived by one sister, Eula Rash Gunder of Spartanburg SC, and onegreat-grandson, James Miles Liptak. He was predeceased by five sisters and seven brothers.
Memorial services will be conducted by Rev. Jack Sisk on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Seawright Funeral Chapel in Inman SC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 -11:00 AM. Burial with military honors will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens located about two miles north of Inman SC. Omit flowers.
