Ronald Gene Barnes
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Ronald Gene Barnes, 68, husband of Diane Wilson Barnes, died Friday, April 13, 2012, at Regional Hospice Home. He was the son of the late Charles Shell and Jennie Bullman Justice.
Mr. Barnes was a member of Thompson Chapel Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a fireman for 18 years, serving 11 years with the Spartanburg Fire Department, then later as Chief of the Una Fire Department, owner/operator of Barnes Wrecker Service, owner/operator of Sportsman Fishing Lake, Cowpens, and retired as a bus driver for Spartanburg Regional.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jeff Barnes of Spartanburg; a daughter, Missy B. Keller of Charlotte, NC; two granddaughters, Katie and Sara Barnes of Spartanburg; and a sister, Sharon Workman of Cowpens.
Memorial services will be at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, at Thompson Chapel Baptist Church officiated by Rev. David Frost. The family will receive friends following the service.
