COWPENS, SC-- Gloria Jean Hollis, 55, of 130 Huff Road, Cowpens, died Friday, April 20th, 2012, in her home.
Born in Spartanburg County, she was daughter of Elvena Jeffries Hollis of the home and the late Roosevelt J. Hollis.
Gloria was a graduate of Cowpens High School and Daniel Morgan Technology Center and a Licensed Cosmetologist. She was an employee of Magnolia Manor in Gaffney and a former employee of Hamrick's. She was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Sanders Gospel Choir, the Victory Choir, Praise Team, Culinary Committee, and Media Ministry.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sisters, Sarah Hollis and Angela Hollis, both of the home; uncle, Horace Dover of Spartanburg; and great-uncle, Carroll Wells of Cowpens.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., in Island Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Timothy L. Hunter officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She will lie in state Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 27, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Gilmore Mortuary.
