WELLFORD, SC-- Dorothy Crunkleton Blanton, 77, of 104 Black Duck Lane, formerly of 1310 Buck Creek Road, Chesnee, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Spartanburg Medical Center. She was the widow of Alfred Dean Blanton.
Mrs. Blanton was a native of Carnesville, GA, and a daughter of the late Herman John and Myrtie Estelle Lecroy Crunkleton. She was a homemaker and an active and faithful member of Buck Creek Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Allen Dean and Liz Blanton, Tim and Elaine Blanton of Chesnee, Michael and Ann Blanton of Clinton, SC, and Rick and Cindy Blanton of Boiling Springs; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Harris Settle and Jane and Billy Mills of Inman, Pam and James Staggs of Wellford, and Gail and Truitt Tollison of Taylors, SC; brothers, Jerry and Phil Crunkleton of Georgia and Doug Crunkleton of Beech Island, SC; sisters, Peg Milford, Undine Hilley, and Jeanette McFarlin of Georgia. Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one sister and five brothers.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Buck Creek Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Chris Gulledge and Rev. Allen Dean Blanton. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
