INMAN, SC-- Mildred Cannon McDowell, 86, of 650 Riveroak Road, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of William Thomas McDowell.
Mrs. McDowell was a native of Spartanburg County and a daughter of the late Oscar C. and Gertrude Brannon Cannon. She was a graduate of Fairforest High School, a former secretary with the Spartanburg County Library and a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Jean McDowell of Boiling Springs, Bruce and Cheryl McDowell of Boiling Springs; daughters and son-in-law, Judy McKelvey of Inman, Linda and Benny Pike of Inman, Karen P. McDowell and partner, Teresa Painter of Boiling Springs; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Kathleen Perry and Doris Millwood and one brother, Cecil J. Cannon.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Funeral Chapel officiated by Dr. Hank Williams. Interment will be in Boiling Springs First Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of Judy McKelvey, 630 Riveroak Road, Inman.
