Myrtle Elizabeth Pope Warren
JACKSONVILLE, FL-- Myrtle Elizabeth Pope Warren, age 83, died Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Heartland Assisted Care Facility located in Jacksonville, FL. She was the widow of John Warren. Born in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Solon Pope and Maybelle Fowler Pope Jones, who predeceased her.
Survivors include her daughter, Sally Jo Jones (Kenneth Damren) of Spartanburg, SC; and her son, Michael T. Smith (Janice C. Smith) of Surfside Beach, SC.
A retired medical transcriptionist for hospitals in both South Carolina and Florida, she was a graduate of Fairforest High School and Spartanburg Junior College. As a youth, Ms. Warren was an active member of Arcadia First Baptist Church and had actively attended local Jacksonville churches thereafter. She has left this earth knowing that she led a full and meaningful life and that she was touched by many people in loving and constructive ways.
A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced.
The family asks that any memorial donations be made to Arcadia First Baptist Church, 241 Spring Street, Arcadia, SC 29320.
