Alice A. Broome
LYMAN, SC-- Alice Leonora Arnold Broome, 87, widow of Joseph Daniel Broome, Sr., died June 8, 2012 at Ashlan Village in Lyman.
Born in Fingerville, Alice lived in Abbeville for 50 years before moving to Lyman in 1996. She was a member of the Duncan First Baptist Church. Alice was a graduate of Berry College and a retired teacher from Abbeville High School. She was active in her church and taught Sunday school for many years.
Mrs. Broome is survived by her five children, Anne Jordan and her husband Terry Jordan of Piedmont, Joyce Dunn and her husband John Dunn of Inman, Jean Duncan and her husband Mitch Duncan of Lugoff, Robin Warren and her husband Gene Warren of Eldersburg, MD and Joey Broome and his wife Donna Broome of West Columbia. She has eight surviving grandchildren, Kathy and David Jordan, children of Anne and Terry Jordan, Donovan Brooks, son of Joyce and John Dunn, Cameron and Chase Duncan sons of Jean and Mitch Duncan, Samantha and Mike Warren children of Robin and Gene Warren, Candice Magee, daughter of Joey and Donna Broome. She has one great-grandchild, Caiden Magee, son of Candice Magee and two sisters, Rebecca Skipper of Columbia and Aurelia Smith of Cambria, CA.
Mrs. Broome was predeceased by her grandson, Wesley Dunn, son of Joyce and John Dunn.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Lamar McAbee and Rev. Mitch Crow. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Abbeville.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday at Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Joyce Dunn.
