Artie M. Huddleston

BOILING SPRINGS, SC- Artie M. Huddleston, 87, of Boiling Springs, SC, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012, at Foothills Hospice Home. He was the widower of Clara Huddleston who died in 2005.
Mr. Huddleston was a native of Wedowee, AL and a son of the late Monroe and Mamie Henry Huddleston. He was a retired superintendent with Southern Wood Piedmont for 40 years, a Mason with Lone Oak Lodge, a naval veteran of World War II, a Sunday school teacher for 45 years at Whitney Freewill Baptist Church, where he was a Church member.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Ron and Judy Huddleston of Boiling Springs; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and John McKinney of Mooresboro, NC; brothers: Russell Huddleston of Wedowee, AL and Wylie Huddleston of Mobile, AL; a sister, Evelyn Brown of Wedowee, AL; three grandchildren: Thomas Huddleston, Chris and Stephen McKinney; five great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Jeannette Pare.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Whitney Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Billy Vanderford and Rev. Ron Huddleston. Interment will be in Whitney Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Whitney Freewill Baptist Church, 847 Iron Ore Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
The family will be at their respective homes.
