Lillian "Lil" Barker Bailey
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Carrie Lillian Bailey, 82, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, June 13, 2012, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born January 13, 1930, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Miller Hines, Sr., and Carrie Mae Cooley Hines. She was a member of Bible Truth Chapel and sang in the church quartet.
Surviving are her daughter, Laronna Seay of Spartanburg, SC; son, Joseph Gabriel, Sr. of Spartanburg, SC; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Rhonda Barrineau of Lexington, SC; sisters, Eva J. Lewis of Inman, SC, Cornelia Prince of Columbus, NC, and Dr. Virginia Brannon of Boiling Springs, SC; and brother, Speedy Hines of Greenville, SC. She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Pete Barker; son, David Howard Barker; daughter, Patty Jo Barker; her second husband, of 9 years, James D. Bailey; brothers, Bill and Holland Hines; and sister, Alatha Vassey.
Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Friday, June 15, 2012, at Bible Truth Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the church, conducted by Pastor Larry Buchanan and the Rev. Rick Lunsford. Burial will be in Cooley Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
