Lawrence H. Williams
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Lawrence "Laurie" Harold Williams, 79, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Eden Terrace in Spartanburg. Laurie was born on November 3, 1932, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he lived until he was 6 when his family returned home to Bradford, England. Laurie was the husband of the late Jill Williams and son of the late Harold Ebor and Lilly Broadhurst Williams.
A graduate of University of Manchester in England, Laurie emigrated with his family from England to Spartanburg, South Carolina in 1976 where he began a career with Milliken that lasted until retirement.
Laurie is survived by his sons Matt Williams of Seneca, SC and Rob Williams of Charleston; a daughter-in-law Cathy and grandchildren, Rachel and Collin all of Charleston, SC. Laurie was also predeceased by a son, Jeremy Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio.
