Merle P. Kimbrell
CHESNEE, SC-- Merle Petty Kimbrell, 91, widow of William Albert Kimbrell, of 6747 Parris Bridge Road, formerly of Mt. Pleasant Road, Spartanburg, went home to be with her Lord, Friday, June 15, 2012, at the home.
Born, July 15, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Talmage and Mary Lee Easler Petty. She was retired from Beaumont Mills and was a lifetime member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she had perfect attendance for 35 years, was the church custodian for 40 years and was a member of the church choir.
Surviving are a son, Tommy Kimbrell and wife Debbie of Chesnee; sister, Juanita Seay of Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Brooks Lee Lawter and Shannon Lawter; and great-grandchildren, Peyton, Bailey, Parker and Olivia Lawter. She was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Seay; and brothers, Bill and Charles Petty.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Reverends Fred Quidley and Charlie Glover officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends, Monday, from 2:30 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
