Lucy B. Messinger
GREER, SC-- Lucy Burgin Messinger went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 23, 2012.
Lucy was born February 25, 1925 to the late J.M. and Vertie Burns Burgin and was the last survivor of ten sisters and brothers.
She was a faithful member of Lee Road Baptist Church and member of the choir and loved to sing praises to the Lord. She was a member of the Eastern Star Greer Chapter 151 and was Worthy Matron from 1984 to 1985.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Debbie Messinger of Moore and Rodney and Teresa Messinger of Simpsonville; three granddaughters, Heather Nussbaum, Nikki Phillips and Stacey Morgan; and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, Carey Messinger and her sweet heart of 57 years, Charles E. Messinger, Jr.
The family would like to thank her family at Manning House Assisted Living for their love and care for the last 2 1/2 years. She loved you all.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Todd Stewart. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home of her son, Terry Messinger.
