John Waymon "Mamps" Miller|
DUNCAN, SC-- John Waymon "Mamps" Miller, 96, of Duncan, died Sunday, June 24th, 2012, at Regional Hospice House. Mr. Miller was the husband of the late Florella Brown Miller and was the son of the late Rev. John Wister Miller and Mamie Ginn Miller.
Mr. Miller was a long-standing member of Spartanburg First Wesleyan Church where he served his church in numerous capacities including teaching, serving as Sunday School Superintendent, board member, and minister of music. His life was dedicated to loving and serving Jesus Christ and leading others to Him. He adored his family and his country and left an incredible Godly legacy.
Survivors include one son, Jan P. Miller and his wife Becky of Spartanburg; one brother, Rev. John James Miller of Lake Junaluska, NC; two granddaughters, Jan Yoho and her husband Frank of Gastonia, NC and Terri Pruitt and her husband Mike of Belton, SC; and three great-grandchildren, Miller Yoho, Talbert Black and Taylor King. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be 12 noon - 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 28th, at Spartanburg First Wesleyan Church, 750 Upper Valley Falls Rd., followed by memorial services at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Gary Long and special friend, Keith Taylor.
