Mary Phillips
BEDFORD, VA-- Mary Campbell Phillips, 87, of Bedford, VA, formerly of Pauline, SC, died Monday, June 25, 2012, at the Bedford County Nursing Home. Born May 24, 1925, in Abbeville County, SC, she was the widow of Robert McIver Phillips, Sr., and daughter of the late Willie Lloyd and Ruth Manning Campbell.
Mary was a former hostess for the Milliken Guest House for six years, then hostess for the J. F. Floyd Mortuary for five years. She was a member of Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church, a former Elder, Sunday School Teacher, and Bible moderator.
Surviving are her daughter, Kathryn "Kay" Brewer and her husband Chuck of Lynchburg, VA; son, Robert McIver Phillips, Jr. and his wife Nan of Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Barbara Ramsey of Anderson, SC, and Pat Freeman of Anderson, SC. She was predeceased by three sisters and a brother.
Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Friday, June 29, 2012, at Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church Family Life Center. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM, in Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery, by the Rev. Dr. B. E. Pettit.
