James Tate
SPARTANBURG, SC-- James Howard (Tate) Gist, 74, formerly of 306 Woodview Avenue, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012. A native of Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Claude Gist, Sr. and Dorothy Tate Gist.
Survivors include one daughter, Dottie (Calvin) Lewis; three brothers, Russell Gist, Paul Tate, and Steve Gist; one sister, Paulette Jennings; three grandchildren, Lloyd, Darryl, and Darryen Warden; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation and viewing will be 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, at the Michael A. Glenn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, 106 Theodosia Drive.
