Charles Allen Brown
MOORE, SC-- Charles Allen Brown, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away after a brief illness at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center on June 28, 2012.
Charles was born in Union, SC, on October 27, 1947, the son of Bessie Brown Erwin and the late Pierce Brown. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sandra Dills Brown and their three sons, Matthew Allen Brown and his wife, Jamie of Moore, SC; Christopher Ryan Brown and his fiancée, Audrey R. Howard and Tyler Brown of the home; three grandchildren, Katelyn, Hudson and Kaylee Brown.
He is also survived by sisters, Patti Hill of Buffalo, Susan French of Miami, FL; brothers, James Brown of Spartanburg and Danny Ray Brown of Buffalo.
Charles graduated from Union High School, Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, Gardner-Webb University and attended Southeastern Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, NC.
Charles served in the U.S. Army, 1st Infantry Division from 1966-1968 with an E-4 rank and was a Vietnam veteran.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 West Faris Street, Greenville, SC 29605.
