Norman Herbert Johnson
PACOLET, SC-- Norman H. Johnson, husband of Diane Johnson, died in his home surrounded by his beloved family and friends at 1638 Old Spartanburg Hwy., on July 6, 2012. Born in Cowpens, April 22, 1940, he was the son of the late Herbert and Gladys Johnson.
He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cowpens. Today we rejoice in the knowledge that he has passed the barrier of time as we know it and is forever at home with his Lord and Savior he faithfully served for nearly 40 years.
Surviving, along with his wife Diane, are three daughters, Becki Genobles (Keith) of Boiling Springs, Tiffany Fowler (Timothy) of Pacolet and Christy Vaughn of the home; three sons, Brian Mathis (Amy) of Simpsonville, Christopher Mathis (Robin) of Piedmont and Timothy Mathis of Spartanburg. He is also remembered and loved by 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Clyde Johnson (Linda) and Jerry Johnson, Sr. (Jo Ann), all of Spartanburg; and 5 sisters, Margie Moore of Cliffdale, Shelby Cole of Cowpens, Brenda Watkins (Johnny) of Cowpens, Emmy Hawkins (Jerry) of Woodruff and Sarah Donnahue of Florida. Preceding him in death were a sister, Teresa Turner; and a granddaughter, Macie Davis.

Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8, at Bobo Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, at Calvary Baptist Church in Cowpens officiated by Rev. Henry Coley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
