Johnny Mack Strange
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Johnny Mack Strange, 83, formerly of Boiling Springs, went to heaven on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Emeritus at Skylyn Place.
A native of Spartanburg County, born in Enoree, he was the husband of Jane Strange and son of the late George Roy, Sr., and Blanche McDaniel Strange. Mr. Strange was a 1946 graduate of Cross Anchor High School, attended Cecil's Business College and retired from Spartanburg Steel. He was a member of Skylyn United Methodist Church and a Korean War Army veteran.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Brian Wolfe of Boiling Springs and a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Rita Dillard of Chesnee; two grandchildren, Jennifer Wolfe Rutledge and Clint Dillard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Strange, Jr.; and his first wife, Nell Koon Strange, who died in 1969.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Emeritus at Skylyn Place, 1705 Skylyn Drive, Spartanburg, SC. A memorial service will be held immediately following the receiving of friends at Emeritus at Skylyn Place. Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Skylyn United Methodist Church, 1415 Skylyn Drive, Spartanburg, SC, 29302.
