Margaret W. Newton
UNION, SC-- Mrs. Margaret Williams Newton, age 87, widow of William P. "Bill" Newton, of 215 Glendale Rd., passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Oakmont of Union.
Mrs. Newton was born in Union, April 25, 1925, a daughter of the late Haynes Smith Williams and Margaret Waters Williams. She was a graduate of Union High School and Furman University. Mrs. Newton was a retired Special Education teacher with the Union County School System and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are a daughter, Margaret Anne Newton of Union; and a daughter-in-law, June Newton of Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Newton was predeceased by a son, William Smith "Billy" Newton.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Rick Pendleton. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the chapel prior from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the services.
The family will be at their respective homes.
