GREENVILLE, SC-- Mildred Crenshaw Johnson, 90, widow of Paul D. Johnson, passed away Monday evening, October 1, 2012.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Perry and Ruby Turner Crenshaw.
She attended the College of Marshall in Marshall, TX, and was a 1946 graduate of Furman University. Mildred was retired from the Milliken Judson Plant in Greenville with 35 years service. She was a faithful member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church for 60 years and a member of the Jean Bailey Sunday School Class. Mildred will be remembered as a loving and gracious lady who was very talented and creative as a wife, mother and friend.
She is survived by her loving family, daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Dan Nation of Gastonia, NC, and Ruby "Ginger" and Danny Reid of Spartanburg; sister, Jessie Mae Poole of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, J.P. Knight IV, Douglas Nation, Amy Greene (Brian), and Meredith Ard (Bryan); and great-grandchildren, Alex, Avery, Aiden, Emery and Ben. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Theodore Crenshaw; and sisters, Eloise Trammell and Ruth Carpenter.
Mrs. Johnson is at The Mackey Mortuary where the family will receive friends Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 10:30 am to 11:15 am with services to follow at 11:30 am with the Reverend Marty Price officiating. Entombment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
