Edna H. Knox
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Edna H. Knox, 96, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, September 30, 2012, at the home of her grandson. Born, October 20, 1915, in Nashville, TN, she was the widow of Harold Knox and daughter of the late Robert Lee and Elenora Hall Hunter.
Mrs. Knox was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, and volunteered for the SC United Methodist Conference. A graduate of Brown's Business College in Tennessee, she was also very active in local Democratic politics, and retired from Raycord and Swirl Clothing Boutique.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Lisa Mercer Bartlett and husband Terry of Travelers Rest, SC, Jeff Bowen and wife Cathy of Norcross, GA; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ann Bowen; and three sisters.
Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Central United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Alex Stevenson and Mr. Don W. Gibson, Mobile Meals Chaplain. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
