Anne Caughman INMAN, SC-- Anne W. Caughman, of Inman, died Sunday, October 7, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born June 17, 1928, in Mullins, SC, she was the daughter of the late Gordon R. Westrope, MD and Hanna Brown Westrope. Mrs. Caughman was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, a Chancel Choir member, piano teacher, played Mozart's Piano Concerto in D minor as guest soloist with The Southern Symphony Orchestra in Columbia, SC, and a seamstress of handcrafted infant linens. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Columbia College and was a piano major. Surviving are her loving husband of 63 years, George G. Caughman, Jr.; children, George G. Caughman III, P. E. of Watertown, CT, Gordon W. Caughman and wife Alecia M. of Honolulu, HI, Dr. John B. O. Caughman II and wife Jenny of Oak Ridge, TN, and Anne Caughman of Easley, SC; grandchildren, Adam G. Caughman of Bensenville, IL, Corporal Andre M. Caughman, USMC, of Jacksonville, NC, John B. O. Caughman III, Alexander M. Caughman, and Abigail A. Caughman, all of Oak Ridge, TN; and a sister, Dr. Martha R. Westrope, Greenville, SC. Visitation will be 9:00-9:45 AM Thursday, October 11, 2012, in the Parlor at St. John's Lutheran Church. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 AM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Mike Shackelford. Burial will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 11, 2012, in Elmwood Cemetery, Columbia, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 415 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
