Angela Blowe
COLUMBUS, NC-- Angela Lynn Mills Blowe, 35, of 101 Windswept Lane, Columbus, NC, died Sunday, October 7, 2012, in St. Luke's Hospital, Columbus, NC.
Born October l9, 1976, in Honolulu, HI, she was raised in the military. Over the years she lived in Alabama, North Carolina, Virginia and Germany. Angela graduated from Polk County High School in l995 after attending many different schools. She graduated from Central Carolina College receiving an associates degree as a veterinary technician. She worked in Greensboro, NC until she became ill in January of 2003 when she had a heart transplant later that same year. Since that time she has devoted all her energy to raising her son and caring for animals.
Angela loved horses and participated in many events at Harmon Field. Her passion was caring for all animals which led to many pets and many strays finding a home. She worked at Foothills Humane Society before attending Vet Tech school. After her surgery she became an accomplished artist under the guidance of Dale McIntyre.
Most important of all, Angela was saved by the grace of God and awaits us to join her in heaven.
Thanks to organ donation Angela was able to raise her son for 91/2 years.
Surviving are: her beloved son, Zachary Mills Blowe of the home; her parents, William and Linda Jones Mills of the home; brother, Billy Mills (Anna) of Asheville, NC; much loved niece and nephew, Kate and William Mills of Asheville, NC; maternal grandmother, Aliscia Jones; and paternal grandmother, Virginia Mills both of Columbus, NC; two dogs, Scooter and Puppers as well as a cat, Taffy.
Funeral services will be private.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m Tuesday evening, October 9, 2012, in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
